Bob Hoban was born and raised in southern New Jersey and attended
Rutgers University, from which he obtained a B.S. in Administration
of Justice. Bob then moved West to attend law school and to pursue
interests in hiking, camping, fishing, backpacking, mountaineering,
and cross-country skiing.
Bob received his JD from the University of Wyoming. In 2001, he
accepted his first judicial clerkship with Judge Jack Berryhill
in Golden, Colorado, and became intimately familiar with the inner-workings
of the trial courts in Jefferson County. When his one-year clerkship
ended, Bob returned to Wyoming and clerked for Judge William C.
Beaman in the United States District Court for the District of Wyoming.
In 2003, he joined the prestigious Hale Friesen law firm in Denver;
known for its work in land use litigation, governmental affairs,
and public policy.
Over the next four years, Bob developed a successful law practice
in real estate litigation, land use, and public policy. From 2003
to 2006 he drafted more than a dozen bills for the Colorado General
Assembly in the areas of land use and transportation policy.
Bob then elected to relocate his practice to Evergreen, and joined
Frank and Finger in the Summer of 2006. Shortly after joining Frank
and Finger, Bob was honored as the George Holley Outstanding Young
Lawyer of the Year by the First Judicial District.
He is currently a PhD student at the University of Colorado in
its Graduate School of Public Affairs. In that respect, Mr. Hoban
has extensively researched land use and transportation policy. Bob
has given numerous presentations at legal, policy, and academic
conferences, and has a variety of publications in academic, legal,
and professional journals.
Bob’s practice concentrates in the areas of general civil
litigation, real estate, land use, eminent domain, labor/employment
law, public policy, governmental relations, and appeals. He represents
both private and governmental entities, landowners, business owners,
developers, tenants, and other entities in all aspects of these
practice areas. Most recently, Mr. Hoban has been working with various
citizens’ coalitions and numerous individuals with concerns
regarding eminent domain, urban renewal projects, the proposed Front
Range Toll Road, and the extension of 470 through Golden.
Bob is married to Sandy Hoban, and they have two children, Fletcher
(3) and Cassidy (5).
